Link to senior Farewell: IN PROGRESS

The theme of our group project is saying "I am" in different languages that are spoken within the RCHS community. We will provide lots of pictures taken throughout the senior year of seniors at RCHS. My part was actually designing the video and contributing the "I am" idea. I also with collaboration from other group members wanted to put may the odds be ever in your favor at the end of our video. At first we had an elaborate plan, but time was are hardest enemy. We had to compromise some of our ideas because we didn't want to deal with audio or recordings. The easiest thing was that everyone helped.

My capstone presentation was very easy. I had John Daniels as my Judge. I was his "first contestant" during Tuesday night. My overall experience was very good! The hardest part was satisfying the judges and making sure I covered everything i needed too.

My infographic explains my end product being a new shoe for diabetic patient. No I didn't need to conduct any more research to complete my poster. The easiest thing was knowing what to include in my poster. The hardest thing was the layout of the poster and knowing if it's appealing to others in the class. I created my infographic in winter term and made many dramatic changes this semester. I changed  the color scheme and the text fonts and sizes. I also changed the pictures by removing white spaces around images. I have a few things to tweek before its finished.

The main idea of my capstone poster is showing a transition between the ugly diabetic shoes into my idea for a shoe. I will use many statistics and facts about the importance of the shoe

I want to use a very simple info-graphic with three sections basically explaining my shoe. I liked the foot example because that would be ideal for my project, but it looks very complex and confusing. I want a very simple poster because simple is more

My favorite thing about the Kansas Association of Broadcast was the part explaining what a PSA really is supposed to be. They explain a PSA as "The goal of a PSA is simple: To get someone to take a specific action. It’s not to talk about the sponsoring organization. It’s to motivate the targeted audience to act..."(KAB). This statement makes the idea of making my own PSA simple and manageable. I also need to make sure my PSA is clear and has a specific message.

PSA Links

PSA 1)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY-ZrWL6DAI

In this PSA they use a famous public figure, who could be convincing to a certain audience. It was simple and easy because it was one person. It also was serious because of Larry King.

PSA 2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N3MrrKUYgM

In this PSA the creators use adorable little children who are very convincing. The children are young and make adults or others want to help them because they are innocent children.

PSA3) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHgNG2dv8ug

In this PSA it was a stereotypical announcement, but it served it's purpose and had a very clear message. I liked the voice over by the lady because she had a very clear voice.

The key points I will emphasis are how important diabetic shoes are for patients.

2. What visuals and audio are appropriate

I want to use music that will go with words moving across the screen.

3. What type of PSA will you use?

I want to try the words moving across the screen PSA.

4. Outline of proposed structure?

I have no idea where to start I just need to write a script that will be words typed on the screen.

a) My goals for my Capstone Project are to be able to allow diabetic patients with easier access to fashionable shoes that are cheaper and serve the purpose of traditional diabetic shoes. I also will make a proposal for Nike to have a joint business connection. The proposal will specify  what roles of the Nike shoe are needed and what roles of the diabetic shoe is needed. I also plan to get it endorsed by a doctor and/or Nike as a company.

b) It is important because diabetic patients already deal with a lot of health issues, and don't need to deal with ugly shoes. Most patients don't wear their diabetic shoes even when they have been prescribed to the patient. If my proposal were to work it would allow greater access and fashion for the diabetic community. People should care because anyone around you could be diabetic. People could be embarrassed by their diabetic shoes, which could eventually lead to foot amputations.

c)These coals fit into my career because I want to be a nurse practitioner, and will be working with many patients who are diabetic. I also will work with other patients and I could recommended them to wear the diabetic shoes even if they aren't diabetic.

d) My project gives back to society because it is a new invention or idea that many people would love to have, so they don't have to wear the same old ugly pair of diabetic shoes. My project gives back to the diabetic community specifically, but anyone is welcome to wear the shoes. The shoes are idealistically doing more good than harm.
